The Giraffe's Playspace

A space for Non-Violent Communication

The Giraffe's Playspace is a place to approach Non-Violent Communication (NVC) through play and leisure.

It's a free circulation area with different play proposals designed according to the age of the participants, whether they are children or adults, accompanied by a person trained in NVC.

We have books and graphic materials, board games, arts & crafts for creative expression, materials for symbolic play, collaborative games, construction games, gardening tools and other options that allow different approaches according to age and interests.

The Giraffe's Playspace is offered for families, siblings, groups of friends, school mates, work groups, etc. It works on a reservation basis, offering the possibility of adapting the space and the proposals according to the needs of each group.

The language of the Giraffe

The NVC presents the giraffe as the antithesis of the jackal; they symbolically represent two ways of facing a conflict and show us clear examples of how communication between two people can generate or stop the violences that, on many occasions, we have socially normalized.

The giraffe invites us to listen, to observe and to externalize with respect, empathy and compassion, towards oneself and towards the other person, communicating with clarity what we feel and what we need.

At the Giraffe's Playspace we invite everyone, regardless of age, to reconnect with themselves through listening, with compassion towards their inner self, their child, and to open up to the possibility of externalizing their emotions and needs with the language of the giraffe, using play and leisure as a vehicle for it.
